Vanilla Butter Syrup

Ingredients
- 1 Stick (1/2 cup) Unsalted Butter
 - 1/2 cup Dark Brown Sugar
 - 3/4 cup cream or half and half
 - 1/2 Tbsp Honey (Optional)
 - 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
 - 1 Tbsp Pure Vanilla Extract
 
Directions
- In a medium sized sauce pan (better to have bigger than smaller), heat butter, sugar, cream, and honey over medium heat.
 - Whisk to combine and butter melts and sugar disolves.
 - Bring to a boil and allow to boil for 5 minutes.
 - Remove pot from heat.
 - Mix in vanilla until homogenous.
 - Add baking soda a little at a time and whisk vigourously after each addition (the syrup will bubble up rapidly as the baking soda is added).
 - Once everything is mixed and settled, serve immediately.
